Learning about BICAS

One of the best part of my project was learning about BICAS, sharing the information with my project participants, and helping at the Annual BICAS Art Auction. Prior to ARE 520, I had heard of BICAS but had not had the pleasure of attending any of the art auctions. With each interview, I was able to highlight the incredible community work done by the BICAS staff all year and during the art auction. I was so impressed with the organization, their dedicated staff, and the pieces for the auction were absolutely amazing. In my opinion, the auction is an event that deserves much attention and part of my project goals were to bring the some added focus toward it. The staff at BICAS gave me two dozen flyers for distribution to my neighborhood participants and six larger images to post at all of the campuses at Pima College. I am hoping that the flyers and the postings might allow for people who like me, were not aware of the auction and the work of BICAS. It has been a pleasure to have the opportunity to learn about this under-sung community organization.
